Attachments are
an integral part of email message. Aileron enables the user to send
and receive documents associated as attachments to an email message.
With Aileron, users can use their preferred document management
solution, providing additional flexibility to manage documents in
any way user feels is appropriate. |

A user can download
email to the handheld device with or without attachments. Documents
transmitted as email attachments may be downloaded in native desktop
format or for supported applications, in palm handheld format. Native
desktop format typically contains more information which in most
cases, may not provide optimum performance value as users download
large amount of data over a narrow bandwidth connection. Data
converted to palm handheld format is typically much smaller in size,
and provides robust performance. Upload Attachments: A user may
edit the downloaded document or create a new document on the handheld
device. User can attach their desired document before transmitting
the message. If the data is transmitted in palm handheld format,
then it gets converted by the Aileron Server, again optimizing performance.
Note :
Documents are converted by the Aileron Server, a much more resource
savvy computing environment. The handheld format files, with any
of the supported document management options, is a much smaller
sized file as compared to the desktop format. Data transmission
of smaller size files results in increased performance as compared
to the native desktop file format, regardless of the type of network. |
